Property in Msida, Malta

As the name suggests, Msida was previously an old fishing village. It became popular with local people after a leading German Knight of the Order of St John decided to reside in this town in the late 18th century. He also built the famous Ghajn tal-Hassielin that provided a source of water for the villagers. The vaulted building still stands and is used today by fishermen to house their boats and nets.

Apart from pleasant marina-sidewalks, Msida also hosts one of Malta's unique cave chapels and an elegant baroque church dedicated to St. Joseph that was built at the turn of the 19th century. This town also houses a modern yacht marina with over 250 yacht berths. Today, Msida is a bustling university town and development has in fact been centred on an ever increasing student population at the UniversityThere is a scholastic rental market as foreign students tend to rent property close to the University grounds during the year. It is also ever so popular with first time buyers as there is a great selection of one and two bedroom apartments for sale in this area.  Msida is a growing town and also includes Swatar which is another well sought after area for residential and commercial property.
